Merritt Monroe Stoddard, (CPL)
Merritt was the son n’ law (Eliza – wife) of Ebenezer and Elizabeth Johnson who lived in Enfield in the little community of farms located on Bostwick and VanDorn Roads. Merritt and Eliza lived in Enfield according to the 1880 Federal Census. They were listed in the 1900 federal census of Ithaca, farming.
He was born in 1843 to Ira and Orra Stoddard. He enlisted in the Civil War in Danby on June 5, 1864 and was mustered out on July 21, 1865. Merritt died August 7, 1907.
