NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Commissioners, a special election of the qualified voters of the Enfield Fire District in Enfield, New York, County of Tompkins will be held at the Enfield Community Council Building, located at 162 Enfield Main Road, Ithaca, NY, in the Town of Enfield, Tompkins County, New York on the 12th day of September, 2023 (Tuesday), between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 pm. to vote on whether to approve the following resolutions adopted by such Board of Fire Commissioners:
RESOLUTION NO. 1
RESOLUTION REGARDING INCREASING THE STATUTORY SPENDING LIMITATION FOR 5 YEARS:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE ENFIELD FIRE DISTRICT, TOWN OF ENFIELD, TOMPKINS COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”), AUTHORIZING THE FIRE DISTRICT TO INCREASE THE STATUTORY SPENDING LIMITATION UP TO THE AMOUNT OF $575,000 PER YEAR FOR FIVE YEARS BEGINNING FISCAL YEAR 2024.

RESOLUTION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A VEHICLE PURCHASE, REPLACEMENT, IMPROVEMENT, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE, CAPITAL RESERVE FUND:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE ENFIELD FIRE DISTRICT, TOMPKINS COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”), AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A VEHICLE PURCHASE, REPLACEMENT, IMPROVEMENT, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE CAPITAL RESERVE FUND
RESOLUTION NO. 3
RESOLUTION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EQUIPMENT PURCHASE, REPLACEMENT, IMPROVEMENT, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE CAPITAL RESERVE FUND:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE ENFIELD FIRE DISTRICT, TOMPKINS COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”), AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EQUIPMENT PURCHASE, REPLACEMENT, IMPROVEMENT, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE, CAPITAL RESERVE FUND
All persons registered to vote in the Fire District and residing in the Fire District for at least thirty (30) days prior to the day of the vote may vote in such special election.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Enfield Fire District will hold a public hearing on the 6th day of September, 2023, from 6:30pm to 7:00pm at a location to be determined. Please check the website of the Town of Enfield for an announcement of the location of the public hearing. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear all those interested in the Fire District’s statutory spending limit being increased to $575,000 for a period of five (5) years.
