PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Enfield is considering the following resolution: the Town Board of the Town of Enfield proposes to dissolve the Enfield Fire Protection District as required for the formation of the Enfield Fire District into all of the (former) Enfield Fire Protection District. The proposed dissolution shall become effective upon the effective date of the formation of the Enfield Fire District. The Town Board may meet immediately following the public hearing to vote on the proposal.

DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY OF DISSOLUTION PLAN
The Town Board proposes to dissolve the Enfield Fire Protection District as part of the process of creating the Enfield Fire District into the entire portion of the (former) Enfield Fire Protection District, which will protect the residents of the fire protection district. The fire protection district has no assets, liabilities or employees and there are no costs related to the dissolution other than attorney’s fees of up to $15,000. The dissolution will only happen if the Town creates the above fire district into the (former) fire protection district. The residents of the Enfield Fire Protection District area will continue to be provided fire protection by the Enfield Volunteer Fire Company. The proposed dissolution is to become effective at the same time that the fire district formation becomes effective. The Town of Enfield will hold a public hearing on the proposed plan on the 14th day of June, 2023, at the Town of Enfield Courthouse, located at 182 Enfield Main Road, Ithaca, NY 14850, which shall commence at 7:00 pm to take comment from interested persons.
